Pillar I: Delivering On Our Promise

Our core mission drives us to help improve the quality of life in the areas where we operate, through our operations as well as through Social Performance activities to serve the community. We firmly believe that empowering the communities in which we operate to thrive and grow is pivotal to the success of our business.

We prioritise local talent wherever we can and favour local suppliers to generate economic opportunities for the communities across our operations. Our operations helped create 10,000 direct jobs in the KRI and an additional 10,000 indirect jobs in our first decade of operations in the region.

Our Social Performance initiatives reinforce that impact, helping improve the quality of life in and around our operations by promoting healthcare, education and arts, as well as promoting the social inclusion of people of determination. We also invest in global initiatives and events to promote cleaner energy and social sustainability in our region.

Pillar II: Our Commitment to the Environment

We believe that good environmental performance is good business. Protecting and preserving the environment is foundational to our operational strategy and is a deep-rooted principle at Crescent Petroleum. We recognise the impact of carbon emissions on climate change and support the goals of the Paris Agreement.

In 2021 Crescent Petroleum became one of the first companies in the industry to achieve carbon neutrality across its operations after completing a series of projects to reduce carbon intensity and offset remaining emissions. The milestone was the culmination of years of effort to improve total process efficiencies and become one of the least carbon-intensive companies in the energy sector.

As we pursue our long-term capitol expansion programme in KRI, we intend to implement further energy efficiency solutions and will benchmark them against our peers in the industry and seek to continue to improve the benchmark as we pursue expansions, In the future we will seek further improvement and operational benchmarks against our peers.

Pillar III: Ensuring Our Teams’ Safety

Safety is a priority at Crescent Petroleum, and we strive to ensure that the hazards and risks inherent in our activities are mitigated. From production operations to drilling to major capital project construction, as secure infrastructure, all risks are subject to systematic identification, assessment, and control.

Awareness of the hazards, risks, and controls in operation is communicated through inductions, regular training, written procedures, toolbox talks, awareness programmes, and regular safety meetings. This approach is applied to all activities under our control.

The Company also has an established contractor management process that addresses contractor prequalification, selection, monitoring and performance review. While particular attention is paid to contractors engaged in the highest risk activities, we maintain strict standards and controls for all contractors we work with to ensure the highest standards of safety.

Pillar IV: Empowering Our Teams

We strive to minimise our environmental impact by promoting process efficiency in all of our operations and support organisations and events that promote cleaner energy and sustainability in the wider region.

We invest in our employees to help them lead and grow as employees and as people. We aim to empower them with the skills to think strategically, make decisions quickly, and tackle challenges as they arise. That has proven to be critical to delivering uninterrupted gas supply, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, when our teams tackled complex challenges in short order including lockdowns, curfews, and quarantines.

Their loyalty to the company was exhibited throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, when employees worked extended shifts for long periods and worked collaboratively to ensure uninterrupted operations.
